All road projects go through a multistep process of Preliminary Design, Final Design and Construction including robust community engagement.

  • Preliminary Design includes environmental assessment, decisions on the number of lanes and type of bicycle and pedestrian facilities and a construction cost estimate. Projects proposed for Preliminary Design Only will be positioned for future Final Design and Construction funding opportunities.
     
  • Final Design includes the engineering, land use and environmental permits and right-of-way purchases needed to make a project construction ready.
     
  • Construction is when the project gets built.
     
  • Match funding brings more state and federal money for projects by using MSTIP dollars to pay for some of the project costs.

Greenburg Road

Sidewalks and bike lanes, up to three pedestrian crossings with signals and improvements at the Locust Street crossing.

Herman Road

124th Avenue to Cipole Road and Cipole Road intersection

Preliminary Design, Final Design and Construction

New sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, streetlighting and center turn lane (as needed). Improvements at Cipole Road intersection.

Boones Ferry Road

Norwood Road to I-5 Interchange

Preliminary Design Only

Design for new sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes and streetlighting. Includes two lanes in each direction, a southbound auxiliary lane to the on-ramp and intersection turn lanes (as needed).

Tualatin-Sherwood Road / Boones Ferry Road
