These seven projects are proposed for Commissioner District 1. Which do you think will most benefit our community? At the Choose Projects table, you will select three District 1 projects for possible inclusion in the MSTIP '23-'28 funding cycle.

All road projects go through a multistep process of Preliminary Design, Final Design and Construction including robust community engagement.

  • Preliminary Design includes environmental assessment, decisions on the number of lanes and type of bicycle and pedestrian facilities and a construction cost estimate. Projects proposed for Preliminary Design Only will be positioned for future Final Design and Construction funding opportunities.

  • Final Design includes the engineering, land use and environmental permits and right-of-way purchases needed to make a project construction ready.

  • Construction is when the project gets built.

  • Match funding brings more state and federal money for projects by using MSTIP dollars to pay for some of the project costs.
